the last two are especially funny
it was a happening recess.
in between the many project research sessions and meeting, i caught two movies, a play and went to a primary school class gathering. Missed jc class gathering as it clashed with project meeting.. sorry folks~

The play i went to was the above: Dim Sum Dollies The History of Singapore. Was lucky to be called by AC to go as he had free tickets to the play. He had four actually so he called xh, yl and me.

we were rather close to the stage! It was close enough to see the expressions on the faces of the actors. Selena Tan, Emma Yong and Pamela Oei mentioned that they called themselves Dim Sum Dollies because good things come in threes. Hossan Leong played a big role in the play too as their side kick Chopstick, and the other stage guys are called Luo Mian Guys. Haha. The play is an amusing take at the history of our country. At first i had my doubts as history is not really my cup of tea but the play was really entertaining. They even did several parodies about recent happenings such as how the ruling bodies are getting pay raises while the rest can just watch in envy, and the recent taxi fare “adjustments” by portraying it with rickshaw pullers complaining that they are not getting customers. (side track a bit.. why are adjustments in sg always upwards and not downwards?). We were handed mini sg flags during the intermission and they were used in the last bit where the actors sang national songs iirc. The actors were really professional! They did not make any mistakes in the course of the play. Enjoyed myself very much.
Another highlight of recess was gathering with primary school mates. Our form teacher came too. Have i mentioned that i’m a shy person? Especially when i was in primary school. “A quiet pupil, needs to speak up in class” came up quite a few times in my report cards. I was especially quiet again when i saw my primary school classmates. Such memories.. Very glad our form teacher was able to make it. He’s as charming as ever. He regaled us with many amusing anecdotes and jokes. One was, he tells other people that their sons are on PM’s Scholarship. No, not Prime Minister’s Scholarship, it’s Papa Mama’s scholarship. Laughs. Another was, he asked his son, “Boy, are you willing to give money to GOD?” His son would reply yes and he would stick his hand out and say, “I’m glad you’re willing to give money to Good Old Dad”. Laughs.
I hope someday i can be half as charismatic and wise.
One of my primary school mate is now a SIA girl in training! She always had this natural charm and grace and this time she was radiating those qualities. Even the way she walks now is different. She had to go through like 5 rounds of interviews before getting the chance to get into training. Part of the conversation on the table were concerning the classes she’s currently attending. She says the male counter parts in her job are more vain than the ladies and somehow their hair have to slant at a certain angle. It’s funny how she says she cant eat much nowadays and have to watch her diet so as to be able to fit into the figure hugging uniform. Also have to wake up at 430am to put on make up before heading to changi for her 830 lessons, punctuality being very important in the job. Our teacher comments that make up is pretty much about discipline. Oh, she also had to think of as many ways as she can about how to ask passengers whether they would like some water, because they should not use the same line all the time which makes them sound robotic. I’m sure she would pass with flying colours.

super kawaii! they look so happy~
