Missed this excellent series while on exchange studies. Aired in Oct 2008 i think. Saw part of one episode on tvmobile while on the way home after a particularly long thursday and was very much intrigued. On repeat Sundays 130pm to 230 pm Ch8. Catch it if you can.
*spoilers alert*

i was looking forward to watch Harold and Kumar 2 ever since i saw the trailer sometime in Feb. it was sian to find out it’d only be out in April; at that time it meant having to finish my exams before i can watch it. meantime caught harold and kumar go to white castle and find it crude but funny. it felt really good when the dudes finally manage to find white castle and have the meal they were hoping so much for. sadly the sequel wasnt as good as i thought. it’s crude, funny at times but didnt have the feel good factor in the prequel. i guess it’s also because it’s spoiled due to viewing too many funny parts online already.

What happens in vegas was surprisingly good! basically the leads had a wild night in vegas and got married the night they met. next morning when they were sober they both wanted out of the marriage and that was the time the guy won a jackpot! they filed for divorce but the judge wants them to try to make the marriage work. so they both tried to be a-holes to each other in order to get the other to leave without getting the money. i’m not very good at describing, but the show is funny and rather sweet at times so catch it if you can.
“i’d always be there.”
“i’m always around.”
“i’d always love you.”
and my personal favourite:
“i’d always be your fool.”
There’s only one fact that is always true,
that these always are never real.
Always and never should never be used; they will always land you in trouble.

saw this film at a frend’s place some time ago. i actually bought the dvd a long while ago cos i’ve heard ppl say it’s good but never really got down to watching it as i was turned off by the black and white setting of the film. turns out to be part of the show’s charm. the use of colour is rare but when they are used they accentuate the image: a lady’s blue eyes; goldie’s blonde hair and of cos, warm, red blood. it’s quite a gory film but is very enjoyable (from a guy’s point of view at least). the show consist of a few short stories that seemingly are not related but they are slighty intertwined. double thumbs up~

this guy is marv, and he’s actually not a bad guy in the show, more of an anti hero.

huang bi ren is such an amazing actress.
seems like there’s always jerks in ch8 shows.
but it’s true; there’d never be a lack of a-holes in the world.

Pierre Png is making so many boys jealous.
another must watch movie!
love the way the clashing of swords and the background music mix. wow.
but this particular track isnt found in the ost. sigh..

“Thousands of Singaporeans moved out of Singapore every year for all kinds of reasons- work, marriage, study, or migration. From the traditional places like London, New York, Beijing, Shanghai, Sydney, Perth or Christchurch, more Singaporeans are now settling down in places that would not ring a bell in most people’s minds.”
this is a very interesting show. every episode host Berlinda Lee goes to different countries to meet singaporean(s) living there and learn about their life overseas.
yesterday’s episode was about this lady who is in a rural part of china. she’s there to lend support and care to the villages. Some of the children there are orphanes and she hikes up the mountains to visit and play with them. She even have to “fly fox” across rivers to get to some houses. She does’nt get a normal pay for this, only a meager allowance from charity organisations. At first it was hard, she says, she had to borrow funds from the people she know for this cause before the charity orgs accepted what she was doing and grants her the allowance. she also had learn the dialect the locals speak to make things easier. “What’s there not to love?”, she says of the children.
it’s interesting what paths we can choose for ourselves. the never ending rat race, or something less ordinary, yet fulfilling.
i think she is making a difference.
稀游记 is on Ch U every Thurs at 9.30pm. Repeat telecast at 11:30pm. last few episodes. catch it if you can
hilarious~ laughed out loud when i saw this trailer in the cinema.
“I’ve got a big head! And little arms!”

this film left me depressed and i’m not sure why. i’m not saying it’s not a good show, just wasn’t what i was expecting. 90% of the show was about the father’s struggle and while it’s touching when he finally succeeds, seeing him struggle to do so gets tiring after the 1st hour. could have been renamed the pursuit of richness.. money being such an important thing in the world.
cant. wait.
