my “favourite” lecturer is back.

“..Delf chart a fee”
“..to provile a direct self method”
“..at long at it mac money”
“..by shiv or by air”

translation:

“..Dell charges a fee”
“..to provide a direct sell method”
“..as long as it makes money”
“..by sea or by air”

continue this constant translation of what the lecturer was saying
add his annoying way of asking questions
at the end of the 3hr+ tutorial and lecture = brain was threatening to ooze out of ears.

was caught dreaming in class twice today. over one tutorial class.

for the record, i wasnt exactly dreaming. not the second time at least. i was planning. weighing the option of getting either green apple milk tea or chocolate oreo on the way home later. chocolate oreo might get a little too icy sometimes. but choose green apple instead since it should increase fat less. haa.

have u tried talking nonsense with an agent? tried it today and it was quite.. interesting.

my friend and i was approached by a pair of agents. it was hard to walk away because they tapped our shoulders on our backs. so i began to answer some questions the agent asked. by the end of the survey it seems that my friend wasnt done with her agent so i began to chat with mine. questions like how do they choose their victims targets (the agent said she choose us because she observed us taking flyers from the uncle distributing them), what are some reactions of people whom the agents approached, why smokers vs non smokers matter in the survey, how their work environment is actually quite hostile with snobby people in suits just looking down on etc.

an interesting chat.

Agent: So where do you place your savings?
Me: in my piggy bank
(-_-!)

Agent: How much do you put aside as savings every month?
Me: oh usually wont have enough to spend as it is.
(-_-?)

idea: have 2 (or more) aliases, example Jim for agents who seems trustworthy and might be possible to work something out in the future, Joe for the less likely but you have a hard time turning down their request for your contact details. Hence when you get a call from an unknown number, listen for who they are asking for and react accordingly.

on 090909, i was caught by an agent and her first question was, “how young are you?”. I told her my age and she was quite surprised. she thought i was less than 20 years old. must be the recent haircut.

Guess which alias i gave her.

a prof asks a question to the class. no one answers.

the prof repeats the question. slowly this time.
real slowly. as if speaking to foreigners who may not understand english.

its very irritating. it doesnt help when the prof is of Thai nationality and studied in Australia. Imagine his accent for yourself.

there’s another communication module this sem. the tutor seems to be someone who could stab you in the stomach with a smile.

Internship is over. First day of sch today.

requested for a “performance review” on the last week of work, and my boss dramatically scheduled it on 9am on the last day of work. 1st thing in the morning!

also requested one from my boss’s boss, the slave driver. she reminds me of a certain disney character..

haha. reason for asking a review from her was cos my boss is a nice guy, so likely he’d only say the good things. i would like to be whacked 1 x good one to know where my weaknesses lie and work on them, and boss’s boss believes in being direct and critical. we have been reporting to her weekly for status reports of ongoing projects, so she more or less knows me. on the weekly status report meeting on the last week of work, the first thing she said to us while we were entering her room was, “you want to extend for 1 more week? stay la!”, which i replied with nervous laughter and waited for someone else to change the topic.

anyways, the intention was to meet boss’s boss for review first, as most likely i’d get shot down by her, then meet boss who’d likely give a positive review and bring spirits up again. but things didnt turn out as planned. boss’s boss wanted to meet me only after boss meets me. so it turns out to be the other way round; met boss in the morning, then boss’s boss in the evening after hours, as her schedule was packed.

the review with boss was really quite unexpected. there were still many outstanding matters i had to settle in office, so was quite messed up mentally while meeting him. he mentioned my positive qualities and biggest area for improvement is to speak up more. candidly mentioned that performing well is not enough, have to be able to communicate and express ideas during meetings. its something that i know needs to improve, and agree that i’ve beening acting mute too successfully during meetings.

his review left me depressed and i dont know why. i guess its because his impression of me what kinda too positive, and i feel guilty. as in.. if he were to really look into my work, he’d know the standard isnt that good. felt bad cos i deceived him.. its hard to describe.

however, boss’s boss review cheered me up. i told her to be as critical as she wanted to with me. she then roughly mentioned similar good and bad points. i have no idea why her review cheered me up. haha.

How much will you pay to be free?
Whats the opportunity cost for staying at home and not finding work?

No of times windows needs to be restarted a day: 3
No of times IE6 “encountered a problem and needs to closed” : 6

Being forced to work in windows environment allows me to appreciate my fruit themed machine more.

This is coming out of my sleep time. So let me whine for a bit and don’t mind the incoherence.

Work is piled high. Been sleeping late and waking up early the past few days to work work work. “Oh why you extend internship? You got contract with the company ah?” Like they’ve enough space for a non scholar. And I have no idea why I extended too. Fyp got lots to do. No research is ever enough. There are always additional info you can find.

I should start by saying scholar and me are friends.

In order to concentrate, I’d need to be distracted by music.

Its always better to appear as an asshole and show your positive traits later, than to be labeled as a nice guy in the beginning and be marked for faults.

If I have an office room to myself, one with great window view, that used to be a director’s room, would I have anything to complain about? would surely shut any suggestions that I’d be lonely in the room. Isn’t it part of having a room to myself? Its my own room for goodness sake. Better than high traffic cubicle next to main glass door.

I’m surrounded by so many scholars that the colleague who sat next to me asked: so what scholarship program are you under?
Now i have a good ans to reply: MP Scholarship. Mama Papa Scholarship. Bond for life.

Can never understand how those from elite schools can have never ending discussions about their schools and the interactions with other elite schools.

let’s say there’s a job offering up for grabs. 2 guys are applying for it.

Requirements are as follows: outstanding academic performance. intelligent. confident. outgoing personality. wit is much appreciated.

Guy A wants the job. However, requirements are high, most probably job will not be compatible.

Guy B is unsure whether he wants the job, but thinks job is fun. Quite compatible with job requirements, perhaps more. Headhunter seems interested in getting him.

..i’d choose the scholar too.

very tired. mentally exhausted. is there anything i can watch to feel better?

Whose line is it anyway. with vodka if it still doesnt do the trick.

NB: check it out carefully before committing to buy pls.

been watching the office since start of internship. at first wasnt used to awkward moments in the show, but now take them as part of its charm.

bought a nintendo ds (finally). it was on my “want list” since the start of this year. now that i’ve got it, i wished i had gotten it earlier, specifically before the overseas exchange. wud have made the long trips much easier. entertainment on the go!
xbox360, you are next. (going back to a gaming otaku?)

internship is okay. shall elaborate. really like the culture there. everyone is on first name basis (i wondered for a long time how i shud address my supervisor on the first day), usually have lunch together with colleagues or with scholar. my supervisor is really nice. tho the culture is friendly, work still gets done. thats what i really like about this place. of cos, there are still “slave drivers” here and there. however, as its a stat board, the requirements in order to get employed is high. likely not accepted in the future. oh, there also the presence of a “Hermes” like character.

went for jog yday. shall go run today again.
all it takes is a little motivation.

tmr is the start of attachment. tho its only for a short period of time, i’m still quite nervous about it. new surrounding, fresh faces, change of routines.

am tired by just thinking of what time i have to wake up tmr.

So nostalgic! they used to be such amazing toys to spur imagination. playing them near plants = jungle, carrying the vessels around the air as they explored space. such fun. they were not cheap and hard to come by; if lucky will get them on occasions like birthday, or when parents strike 4D ( v rare)
used to have this:

kids nowadays dun play with lego anymore huh? with video games and all.

Weird thought while in the midst of an exam paper: wouldn’t it be great if i could write with both hands? left hand take over when right hand is tired.

exams were tough. went to sch almost everyday, only on sundays get to sleep 1 hour later as the library opens later. packed breakfast and lunch to school which consists of sandwiches and snacks like hello panda.

during one of the core papers, this tutor who i think taught the mod kept standing beside me and i suppose read my answers. i had the impression he did so bcos i didnt attend his lessons.

pray the markers don’t laugh too hard when they see some of my answers.

the motivating factor to pull thru the exam period, thai trip with dudes, was postponed. sigh. was so looking forward to traveling again.
