I had the feeling things were going a bit too smoothly (approval of overseas loan, settling overseas resident permit, finally getting my apple laptop and ipod) and something was not right.
i’m not used to this kind of luck.
at this crucial time, i lost my wallet. inside i had my IC, two debit cards from two banks, 1 atm card, my matric card, cash card, plus some cash. yes, i was dumb enough to keep all that in one wallet.
the cash was my least of worries. what mattered most was my IC and one of my debit card (with all of the loaned money inside!). Once i realised my wallet was gone the first thing i wanted to do was to log on to the internet and check whether the money was still there! and to call the banks quickly to stop the thief from using my cards.
i didnt know police stations operate only on certain hours. the one i went operates from 12noon to 10pm. I reached there at 1143 and had to wait for it to open. it’s strange because i thought they operate 24/7, like 7-eleven.
oh. i just remembered i had one other major screw up. i was buying budget airline tix for my group of friends on the behalf of another friend as her debit card was out of cash. so she was tellin me the website to go, what options to choose. up to the point where she told me to use my mastercard debit as a visa debit card, because the charge will be cheaper. i was iike huh?? how can? they are two competiting sides! surely will not be approved. i clicked “next” while wondering how the hell something like that would work, and felt something was wrong. for one of my friend’s name was wrong. in order to change that, i had to pay 40pounds, around 100sgd. Super expensive mistake!
The average speed of money is inversely proportional to the average speed of time
Of late, I note that our rather earnest and well-meaning Land Transport Authority has increased the electronic road pricing yet again on the basis that the average speeds of motor vehicles on the priced roads are still very low during peak hours. I’m not a rocket scientist, but as an avid peak-hour motorist, I would like to offer up some suggestions as to how this logic could possibly be flawed. And by “flawed”, I mean “wrong”, like “crazy-insanely-wrong”, or like “you-are-dreaming-wrong”.

Like.. wow.
time crawled while in camp. the feeling of being cut off from the rest of the world.. once again experienced the efficiency at which the organisation works.
but the food seemed much nicer! especially the syrup water. yum! tho much $ was spent on canteen breaks. the smokers were hit the hardest ba. nothing to do? smoke loh. 1 day 1 pack like it’s FOC.
it was funny when OC tried to tell us what “fall in” is, and funnier when he failed.
imagine you are pieces of goods to be transported from one place to another. that was how we were treated. Wake up at 630, eat, fall in.. and wait till 9am (-_-!)
re-trained the ability to seat anywhere, and for an unknown (usually long) periods of time.
Firing the weapons were fun, but feels like being cheated of $200. See, the new weapon has a scope, making the targets look bigger. with basic firing fundamentals installed and the scope, getting the marksman award was a given. Previously one NS company got 85% marksman! However.. we didnt expect to experience faulty target boards. it was super frustrating to see the boards not go down when you know you hit the target. And even though they reassured us that feedback was important, we should have known that there was no hope our feedback were taken seriously. Nothing was done to remedy the target boards. the target boards expensive you know! and it as SO FUN to clean the rifles after firing.
i have the feeling the feedback forms we filled up went straight to the shredder.
had craving for kinder bueno and bought a 3pack today.
received one as a gift just now.
