Jane McGonigal: Gaming can make a better world

From Productive Writer To Cocaine Addict, Just Add Grand Theft Auto

From my point of view:

I want a no frills plan that is priced reasonably, which ideally covers all the important aspects of healthcare, eg compensation in the event of hospitalization (have not done my research yet). Do not want any “extra protection”, you know, the kind the agent sells so as to earn a better commission yet he knows they are not really useful.

From the agents’ point of view:

Its their way of making a living. Of course they will be trying to sell all sorts of coverage. Even the non essential ones. Does it mean it is alright for them to lie, over exaggerate, and promise to look after your account for all time even if they intend to “jump ships” when the opportunity rises?

Am looking for a trust worthy insurance agent. Do leave a comment if you know one. Thanks!

snoozing appears to induce sweet dreams nowadays. the other day i snoozed for almost an hour and kept having mini episodes of one dream between each snooze.

this morning snoozed as usual and had a really nice dream. about having meals together. something so simple yet so sweet.

oh there’s a reason why snooze is usually 9 mins long.

Nowadays i’m finding it hard to sleep.

I guess part of the reason is due to not having interesting books to read (or something i’m not bored of rereading)

Was thinking of going to Kinokuniya for a walk and maybe bring home a new book. Then I stumbled upon www.bookdepository.com
What’s interesting is they provide free shipping!

Was looking for Scarecrow by Matthew Reilly (he writes books that are action packed, machiam Hollywood action movies).

Kino:

Amazon:

Bookdepository:

Kinokuniya store price is the most expensive in this case. Amazon is more expensive than bookdepository and have to pay for shipping to SG which is rather substantial. USD$7.01 at BD vs SGD$18.14 at Kino, savings of over SGD$8! (depends on exchange rate of your bank)

I guess it depends on whether you can wait for the overseas delivery, and the possibility of receiving damaged goods as it makes its transit. Plus contribution to air pollution due to demand of goods that require small air packages.

For many, going into a large book store and being surrounded by books, with the possibility of discovering something new is still an enjoyable experience.

*Note: I’m not saying its always cheaper at bookdepository. more of an alternative while shopping for books. Am not paid to advertise for them! Although it would be nice. Haha.
